Changing Lives in Uberlândia: How UDI Brazil and Estação Vida are Making a Difference

In the heart of Brazil, in the bustling city of Uberlândia, lies a community that has faced its share of challenges. The Shopping Park neighborhood, home to over 40,000 people, has struggled with limited access to basic services such as water, sanitation, and electricity. But despite these obstacles, a group of passionate individuals has come together to make a difference.

Estação Vida, a community center also known as Centro de Formação Comunitário São Francisco de Assis, was founded in 2004 to provide much-needed services to the children of Shopping Park. Today, Estação Vida serves over 150 children, offering a safe space before and after school, healthy meals, educational opportunities, sports, music, and basic computing. The community center reaches over 200 youth with programming that brings in more children for martial arts and other events.

But the work of Estação Vida is far from done. The community still faces economic challenges, and there are limited options for childcare and social services. That's where UDI Brazil comes in.

UDI Brazil, or Uberlândia Development Initiatives, is a separate support organization for Estação Vida. In partnership with the community center, UDI Brazil is working to bring opportunities for physical, social, academic, and emotional growth to the young people of Shopping Park, providing them and their families with the means to thrive. UDI Brazil upholds the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as its standard and vision for a better world.

So how can you help? There are many ways to get involved with UDI Brazil and Estação Vida.

1. Make a donation: UDI Brazil is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, making it possible to receive tax-deductible donations from individuals and corporations. Every donation goes directly to support the work of Estação Vida, helping to provide essential services and programs to the children and families of Shopping Park.
2. Spread the word: Share the story of Estação Vida and UDI Brazil with your friends, family, and colleagues. Use your social media platforms to raise awareness about the challenges facing the community and the impact of the community center.
